DAVID ROCCO

            David Rocco has played ASA softball from 1971 to 1989.  He has received two (2) All American Awards as a player in 1986 and 1988 in the 10-Man Major Modified National Tournaments.

       David continued his softball experiences by coaching the Erie Hard Chrome/RackNRoll team from 1989 to 2001.

       While coaching, David led his teams to win nine (9) 10-Man Major Modified Pennsylvania State Titles during the span of 1989 through 2001.  He had the first team to win five (5) titles in a row from 1989 to 1993 with a record of 26-0.

       Coach Rocco continued to have successful seasons.  From 1998 to 2001 his teams won four (4) titles in a row from 1998 to 2001.  In 1995, 1997 and 1999 David’s teams won the 10-Man Major National Titles.  Ironically, the teams won all the national championships in the bottom of the seventh inning. 

      David has been the recipient of numerous “first” titles.  He lost the first game in 1997 and proceeded to win 9 in a row before capturing the 1997 National title in Sunbury, PA ~~ first coach to be awarded “The Most Valuable Player” in a National Tournament held in 1999 ~~ held the first national title in Erie softball history and was the first Erie team in 1999 to win the Pa. State Title and National Title in the same year.

       David is now retired from coaching and his future goal is
